PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial hip joint assembly whose operational stability is enhanced by reducing loosening. SOLUTION: This artificial hip joint assembly comprises: a stem member 15 fixed within the medullary space of the thigh; a femur member 19 having a spherical head part 3 at the end of the stem member 15; an acetabulum member 20 adapted for fixing to the pelvis 17 and having an acetabulum cap 18 rotatably supporting the spherical head part 3 of the femur member 19; and a joint capsule 16 made from a flexible material with one end thereof located at the end of the femur member 19 and the other at the end of the acetabulum member 20 so that the spherical head part 3 is movable within the acetabulum cap 18 and so that worn pieces do not move out of the bearing zone of the spherical head part 3 in the acetabulum cap 18.
