PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a creamy or waxy hairdressing material free from stickiness having excellent styling properties (setting properties) after application to the hair but not providing a stiff feeling. SOLUTION: This hairdressing material comprises one or more kinds of higher alcohols containing a 20-30C alkyl group and one or more kinds of polyethylene waxes. The melting point of the polyethylene wax is preferably 75-105 deg.C. The combination of both the components is 2-10 wt.% of the 20-30C alkyl group-containing higher alcohol and 1-6 wt.% of the polyethylene wax.
