PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in resistance to compression set, strength characteristics, and the like, to such an extent that a crosslinked rubber sheet therefrom is not scratched at all on its surface by the pencil hardness test and has a compression set of a specific value or less after subjected to a heat treatment at a specific temperature for a specific time. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is molded into a sheet-like form and subsequently subjected to hot air cure to give a crosslinked rubber sheet not scratched at all on its surface by the pencil hardness test using an HB pencil and having a compression set of 70% or less after subjected to a heat treatment at 150 deg.C for 22 hr. The rubber composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene/3-20C α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer rubber, 0.1-100 pts.wt. of an SiH group-containing compound, and further, as required, 0.1-10,000 ppm of a catalyst such as a platinum-containing catalyst, or the like, 0.0001-50 pts.wt. of a reaction inhibitor such as benzotriazole,or the like, and the like. The non-conjugated polyene is a terminal vinyl group-containing norbornene compound represented by formula I or II. In the formulae, R1 is a 1-10C alkyl; R2 is H or a 1-5C alky; and R3 is H or a 1-10C alkyl; and (n) is 0-10. |
