cone clutches. SUBSTANCE: powder clutch is designed for coupling of shafts and transmission of torque due to friction forces between driving and driven half-couplings. Powder clutch has sectional body with shafts positioned coaxially on which driving and driven half-couplings are secured rigidly. Driven half-coupling is connected to drive mechanism. Half-couplings are made as discs which ends are provided with several tapered grooves and projections positioned concentrically. Grooves of driving half-coupling are made in configuration reverse to those of grooves and projections of driven half-coupling so that projections of driving half-coupling may enter groove of driven half-coupling with rotation. End surfaces of both half-couplings are divided into several sectors by radial hollows arranged uniformly along circumference. Depth of hollows corresponds to depth of concentric grooves. External circumferential surface of driven half-coupling is provided with intake grooves positioned at an angle to shaft axis. They couple radial hollows with external behind-disc cavity. Friction powder is placed between discs. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, simplified construction. 2 dwg
