PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a knit with plated stitch with good finish and having a desired pattern, regulated so that a desired knitting yarn may precisely appear on the front surface side by once engaging the knitting yarn which should appear on the front surface side by a rib stitch movement, and pulling in the whole knitting yarns by a tacking movement to form a stitch. SOLUTION: A knitting needle 8 is lifted from a starting position below a trick gap position E to a clearance position, and thereafter lowered to a waiting position to engage one or two knitting yarns (a) and b in the knitting yarns (a), b and c. The resultant knitting needle 8 is subjected to a rib-knitting movement for holding the yarns at a half-lowered position at this side of a knocking over position, and, thereafter, is advanced from the half-lowered position to a tacking position, and the advanced needle is retreated to the waiting position. The knitting yarn c is engaged at the position thereunder, and the knitting needle is lowered to a stitch-forming position. Thereafter, the needle is advanced to the starting position to carry out the tacking movement, and the whole knitting yarns (a), b and c are pulled in to form a stitch and to knit the knit with the plated stitch when knitting a knit with plated stitch by using the three or more knitting yarns.
