PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a dry housing fence and a gatepost in which a foundation can be reduced in size by reducing the weight of a skeleton, the carrying cost and the construction cost can be considerably reduced, no special technology is required in constructing, the construction is simple, and the reforming can be implemented by recycling the skeleton and replacing external facing materials. SOLUTION: A gatepost skeleton 3 is arranged on a foundation 7 and fixed thereto by using the gatepost skeleton 3 with a large number of rail pieces 2 mounted on a support member with specified intervals in the vertical direction, and external facing materials 4 mounted between upper and lower rail pieces 2, grooves 18 provided in upper and lower edges of the external facing materials 4 are fitted to upper and lower rail pieces 2, and the external facing materials 4 are mounted on an outer surface of the skeleton 3 to construct a housing fence or the gatepost.
