PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen depression and an amount of deflection due to partial load concentration by making the breaking strength of one direction a specific value or more, making breaking elongation a specific value or less, making strength during elongation in the specific value of the breaking elongation within a specific range, and making a fiber material for a tatami mat floor comprising fiber face white silk of a specific value or less of weight. SOLUTION: A fiber material for this tatami mat floor comprises a fiber white silk in which breaking strength of at least one direction is 10 kg/5 cm or more, breaking elongation is 30% or less, strength during elongation of 50% of breaking strength is 20-85% of breaking strength and weight is 200 g/m2. It comprises a thermoplastic synthetic fiber, is a woven matter, and the vertical and horizontal densities are sheeting of 6.0 pieces/in or more. The fiber material for the tatami mat floor lessens depression and an amount of deflection due to concentrated load, a moisture content is small, a sanitary aspect is excellent, when a tatami mat is manufactured, noise is small, and when the tatami mat is laid, workability, storage and the like are also excellent.
