PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of cooling a tip without generating noise. SOLUTION: A cutting tool 1 comprises a tip 3 for cutting a work material 2, a seat 4 for fixing the tip 3, and a shank 5 for fixing the seat 4 at the end. A cooling chamber 6, in which a cooling medium supplied from the outside of the shank 5 temporarily remains and circulates, is provided inside the end of the shank 5. After the inside of the cooling chamber 6 is filled with chill serving as the cooling medium and then cooled, the tip 3 is pressed against a cutting point of the work material 2 for cutting. The tip 3 heated through the cutting is cooled by heat exchange between the tip 3 and the chill within the cooling chamber 6 via the seat 4.
