PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the quality of a recording image from deteriorating when a black pixel is recorded by recording it with black ink and correction color ink other than black. SOLUTION: Element signals (cyan signal, magenta signal and yellow signal) of each pixel binarized through binarization circuits 201-203 are inputted to an AND gate 204 and a decision is made whether all element signals have logic '1' indicative of a black signal. If the output from the AND gate 204 is '1', a control section determines a color having a maximum value as a correction color. For that purpose, a maximum value detecting circuit 205 compares the multilevel of respective element signals, renders a color having a maximum value to logic '1' and informs it to AND gates 206-208. Logic output '1' from the AND gate 204 is delivered, as a black signal, to a printer section 105 and, at the same time, logic output '1' from any OR gate 209-211 is delivered, as a black signal, to the printer section. The printer section records a black pixel while combining black ink with correction color ink. |
