PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition exhibiting high-level flame- retardancy and excellent in mechanical characteristics and impact resistance by compounding a styrenic resin, at least one phosphate-based compound having a specific structure and at least one phosphite-based compound having a long chain alkyl group each in a specific amount. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a styrenic resin, 1-30 pts.wt. of at least one phosphate-based compound represented by formula I, 0.1-10 pts.wt. of at least one phosphite-based compound having a structure represented by formula II and bearing a 9C or higher long chain alkyl group, and further, 0.1-3 pts.wt. of a silicone rubber or a silicone resin and 0.1-3 pts.wt. of a phenolic antioxidant. As the styrenic resins, there can be exemplified a polymer or a copolymer mainly composed of an aromatic vinyl monomer such as styrene, or the like, a rubber-modified styrenic resin, and the like. In the formulae, R1-R8 are each H or a 1-5C alkyl; X1 is a group represented by formula III, or the like; Y1 is a direct bond, O, S, or the like; Ar1-Ar4 are each a phenyl group, or the like; (n) is at least 0; and (k) and (m) are each 0-2, or the like.
