PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tight bag packaged item whatever size of an item to be packaged may be applied, by a method wherein an upstream side of a lateral seal of a cylindrical packaging film into which the item to be packaged is fed is cut in reference to a rear end of the packed item in its transferring direction, and the bag is bound at its neck portion. SOLUTION: A transferring means 2 feeds an item A to be packaged into a cylindrical packaging film 8 by a pusher 23 in reference to a rear end of it in a transferring direction. A seal cutter 33 is operated such that a lateral heat seal 36 applies a lateral seal 10 to the cylindrical packing film 8 and then a cutter 37 cuts the cylindrical packaging film 8 at an upstream side of the lateral seal 10. An intermediate packing member Pi becomes a state in which a bag neck portion 11 faces toward the downstream side in its transferring direction and the rear end of the item A is positioned at the bag bottom side with the lateral seal 10. The bag neck portion 11 of the intermediate packing member Pi transferred by a transferring means 4 is bound by a binding means 5 and then a tight packaged item can be obtained whatever the size of the item A may be applied.
