PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary only the depth of a seat without moving the back fulcrum of a backrest vertically. SOLUTION: A depth adjusting mechanism 4 is provided for supporting a backrest 3 in such a manner that the backrest 3 is movable in its front-to-back direction parallel to a seat face 2a. The depth adjusting mechanism 4 includes a rail-shaped guide member 25 supported by a tilting post 19 serving as a support member for legs or a seat, etc., with the front-to-back direction of the guide member 25 parallel to the seat part 2a as its longitudinal direction, and a slider 26 guided by the guide member 25 and having the backrest 3 secured thereto. |
