PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly crush waste wood safely and inexpensively without being accompanied by danger or noise to consistently treat the same by compressing waste wood by a pair of low speed rollers to roughly crush the same and finely crushing the roughly crushed wood by a pair of medium speed rollers while removing foreign matter in the crushed wood before and behind the medium speed rollers. SOLUTION: At first, waste wood A is fed in a nip between a pair of low speed rollers 3 by the feed-in means 2 of a tiltable hopper 21 to be roughly crushed while compressed to separate foreign matter bonded to the waste wood A. Next, the crushed board pieces B are fed in a nip between a pair of medium speed rollers 4 to be finely crushed to obtain short pieces C with a length of about 10 cm. Succeedingly, the crushed short pieces C are fed in a finish process by a relay feed device 5 while mixed iron refuse F is adsorbed, attracted and removed on the way by a magnetic separator 61. Short pieces D from which foreign matter is removed are crushed into chips by a finish crusher 7 and crushed pieces E are discharged to a rear process as a final product by a delivery conveyor 81.
