PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically improve the cooling efficiency and the manufacturing efficiency of a closed type forging apparatus suitable to manufacture small parts compared with conventional one. SOLUTION: In the closed type forging apparatus 1 holding forging tools 2, 3 in a die case 1a and provided with an ejector 4 which penetrates the centers of the forging tools 2, 3 and is supported so as to be freely advanced/retreated to the forging tools and has a cooling water passage 5 in the inner part, a cooling air passage 8 is formed in the surroundings of the forging tools 2, 3.
