PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an energy efficiency, to improve quality of a recovered plastic and to remarkably improve operability in an apparatus for treating a waste plastic metal composite material to be recovered in the state that a valuable metal and a thermoplastic plastic for constituting a composite material are separated and respectively recyclable. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating a waste plastic metal composite material comprises a melting furnace body 1 having a plurality of melting chambers 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D and 2E, a heater 3 for heating the chambers 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D and 2D by insert gas, and a metal gauze cage 4. Opening/closing mechanisms 11A, 11B, 11C, 11D and 11E of inlet tubes 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D and 10E, opening/closing mechanisms 13A, 13B, 13C, 13D and 13E of outlet tubes 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D and 12E and opening/closing mechanisms 16A, 16B, 16C, 16D and 16E of gas channels 15A, 15B, 15C, 15E and 15E are sequentially controlled so as to successively introduce the gas heated to a predetermined temperature to (n-1) melting chambers of the n melting chambers 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D and 2E.
