SUBSTANCE: sonic depth finder has a body to which adapter is connected for joining the casing wellhead nipple, device for receiving of acoustic signals and acoustic signal generator. Device for receiving acoustic signal has a microphone, pressure pickup, temperature pickup and control unit. Acoustic signal generator includes receiver, electromagnetic valve connected to sonic depth finder body and system for building up excessive pressure. Receiver one end is connected to and the other end plugged by microphone. System for building up of excessive pressure is made in the form of minicompressor of solenoid type. Minicompressor is installed on sonic depth finder body in plane perpendicular to receiver longitudinal axis with use of annular space gas without its discharge to atmosphere. Base of the device for receiving acoustic signals is mounted on sonic depth finder body in plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of minicompressor. Pressure pickup is installed in body of sonic depth finder for measurement of static and dynamic pressures in zone of communication of annular space and receiver. Pressure pickup is mounted in body of sonic depth finder for taking part in process of its heating which is effected by alternating cutting-in of coils of electromagnetic valve and minicompressor. EFFECT: measurement of measured objects with use of gas medium without discharge of gas to atmosphere. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
