PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror which secures the privacy of users etc., and which is excellent in usability. SOLUTION: This mirror 1 with a narrowed reflecting area is formed by forming a mirror surface portion 6 on one side of a laminated glass plate 2. The laminated glass plate 2 comprises two float glass plates 3 between which a refractive index regulating film comprising three films laminated together is located. The refractive index regulating film is formed by coating each of the front and back faces of a transparent acrylic resin film 4 disposed at the center with a similarly transparent intermediate film 5 (X). The intermediate film 5 is formed from a polygomer, polyethylene terephtalate, polyurethane or the like. The intermediate film 5 formed from such a material is polymerized with the acrylic resin film 4 and is integrally cured by ultraviolet irradiation. Formation of the mirror surface portion 6 is effected by first vapor depositing silver on the one side of the glass plate 2 to coat the one side with a silver vapor deposition layer 7 (Y). Further, the upper layer of the silver vapor deposition layer 7 is plated with copper to form a copper plating layer 8. Further, a backing paint 9 is applied to the upper layer thereof by a method such as spraying or baking.
