PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining chair such that an ottoman can be converted to a raised condition even if a backrest remains in an upright condition. SOLUTION: An ottoman 2 is vertically movably mounted at the front of a seat 3 and a backrest 1 is reclinably mounted at the rear of the seat 3. A linear actuator 4 is interposed between the ottoman 2 and the backrest 1. When the linear actuator 4 is actuated to rotate the backrest 1 for raising or lowering, the ottoman 2 is rotated and moved vertically accordingly. When the backrest 1 is in an upright condition, the ottoman 2 can be moved vertically by operation of a manual operation lever 13.
