摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound highly compatible with a cellulose acetate-based resin when used as a plasticizer for the resin, and capable of giving the corresponding resin composition slight in plasticizer bleedout and low in volatility of the plasticizer when subjected to molding processing operation. SOLUTION: This new compound is represented by formula I (R1 is H or an aliphatic acyl; and R2 is an alkyl), e.g. a compound of formula II. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, when R1 is H, by reaction of one mol of trisodium citrate with an alkylα-monohalogenoacetate, an alkyl ester corresponding to R2, (e.g. methyl monochloroacetate) in an amount at or greater than the stoichiometric level, pref. 1-10 mol, pref. at 60-150 deg.C for 1-24 h. The compound of formula I is served as a plasticizer intended to be incorporated in cellulose acetate-based resins and excellent in compatibility, nonvolatility, non-migratoriness, etc. It is preferable that the amount of the compound of formula I to be compounded is 5-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a cellulose acetate-based resin to be incorporated therewith.
