PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which does not easily suffer a combinational heat degradation when contacted with a metal and polyvinyl chloride at high temperature and has an improved heat resistance by heating and kneading a polyester block copolymer obtained by reacting a crystalline aromatic polyester having a hydroxide group on its molecular terminal and a lactone, a specific epoxy compound and a metal complexing agent. SOLUTION: A polyester block copolymer is obtained by heating and kneading 97-50 wt.% of a crystalline aromatic polyester having a hydroxide group on its molecular terminal and having a number average molecular weight of at least 5,000 and a melting point of not less than 160 deg.C and 3-50 wt.% of a lactone in the presence of a catalyst. A composition is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of this polyester block copolymer, 0.5-5.0 pts.wt. of an epoxy compound having at least one functional group and 0.01-3.0 pts.wt. of a metal complexing agent and heating and kneading the mixture for 30 s-60 min in the temperature range from the temperature 5 deg.C higher than the crystalline melting point of the polyester block copolymer to 280 deg.C.
