PURPOSE: A high speed search device for an image-music providing system and a method thereof are provided to select an alignment by moving a joystick right and left and search a desired song in a short time by changing a scroll speed according to the inclination of the joystick. CONSTITUTION: A high speed search method for an image-music providing system includes the steps of displaying an item list(S1), searching an initial position of displayed items to align from the position(S2), displaying an item representing position X(S4), checking whether the displayed item is selected(S5), displaying the selected item(S6), checking right and left switch states if not selected(S7,S9), returning to the first step after changing the alignment if the right or left switch is turned on(S8,S10), displaying an item list with respect to the changed alignment, checking whether a joystick is moved vertically if the right or left switch is not turned on(S12,S16), and moving the items faster or slower according to an inclination of the joystick if the joystick is moved and advancing to the second step(S13-S15,S17-S19).
