PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester in an improved yield without the need of using any aqueous alkaline solution in the neutralization process to effect reducing the quantity of waste water produced in the production process. SOLUTION: This method for producing a (meth)acrylic ester comprises adding a solid acid-neutralizing agent such as magnesium oxide, synthetic hydrotalcite or magnesium hexasilicate to a reaction liquid containing the objective (meth)acrylic ester produced, for example, by esterification between (meth) acrylic acid and the corresponding alcohol to eliminate the acid in the reaction liquid. As a result, because of no need of using any aqueous alkaline solution, yield drop of the (meth)acrylic ester due to its removal through migration into an aqueous layer can be prevented, and furthermore waste treatment process can be simplified owing to reduction in the quantity of waste water, thus mitigating load on the environment.
