The invention relates to cleaning material formulations and the use thereof in the removal of pigment-containing residues which arise during the production or filling of pharmaceutical or cosmetic preparations. Said formulations are based on one or several consituents with complex-forming properties selected from the following groups: amino carboxylic acids, polyamino acids, P-free carboxylic acids and the salts thereof.
