PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a viewer to efficiently grasp contents of a live relay broadcast without losing the charm of live performance, to freely select a scene desired to be viewed and to view the scene without missing it. SOLUTION: A delay section 102 delays video data received from an input section 101 in this live video image transmission system, an indexing section 103 extracts an index of a video image in this delay, and a multiplexer section 106 multiplexes the video data, the index and an ID of the video image and transmits the multiplexed data. A demultiplexer section 107 of a receiver 11 demultiplexes the multiplexed data into the video data, the index and the ID, and a compositing section 111 composites various contents such as information, the ID and the video image stored in advance in a storage section 110. A selection section 112 selects a video image, a graphic and character information selected according to the set information and a display section 113 displays them.
