MELT-PROCESSIBLE POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polytetrafluoroethylene composition which is melt- processible by injection molding. SOLUTION: This composition contains a polytetrafluoroethylene in an amount of at least 50 wt.% and a polyarylene ether ketone in such an effective amount as to impart a melt processability to the composition, and is characterized in that at least 20 wt.% of the polytetrafluoroethylene has a melt viscosity of at least 108 Pa.s. It is desirable that the polytetrafluoroethylene is of a fine powder type and the composition contains from 20 wt.% to 50 wt.% of the polyarylene ether ketone.
