<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating an ATM cell for a low bit rate application. SOLUTION: This method uses a means of segmentation and packet assembling that converts a plurality of incoming data unit streams (STi) into a plurality of incoming short packet streams (STi) and also includes segmentation of long data units before assembling a data unit into a short packet. This method includes a step where a plurality of the STi' streams are multiplexed on a single outgoing short packet stream (ST) and the various STi' streams are multiplexed and scheduled onto the ST for scheduling and a step where a short packet corresponding to a long data unit of the various STi streams is interleaved to be the ST above.</p> |
