PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the adjusting accuracy not decreased while simplifying various adjusting operations needed for the adjusting operation of the picture quality of a video to be displayed on a CRT display screen. SOLUTION: In the display device to which video signals are inputted and displayed, this device has a detecting and measuring means 13 which detects the video signals and measures signal timings, an arithmetic control means 11 which generates a control signal setting the size and the position of the display part of the display device based on the output of the means 13 and which outputs the control signal to the deflection part of the device and also outputs information of the display size and a position adjustment, and a characteristics waveform calculating means 12 which calculates the characteristics correction of the display part of the device based on the information of the display size and the position adjustment and which outputs a characteristics correcting signal to the deflection part. The device automatically adjusts the display size, the display position and characteristics corrections such as distortion correction according to the inputted video signals. |
