PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To furthermore reduce signal processing time by dynamically switching a signal path between two signal processing means in response to two operating modes with respect to a camera that applies at least A/D conversion signal processing to a video signal, applies irreversible signal processing to converted image data and can temporarily store the image data. SOLUTION: A mode control section 21 dynamically switches a signal path in an image signal processor 14 to store RAW data to a storage area 23C in a RAW image mode so that the data can be used later. Read/write of the RAW data to/from an image memory 23 is omitted and a series of signal processing is conducted in real time synchronously with an operating clock. As a result, within a time required to store the RAW data to the image memory 23 in the RAW image mode, the signal processing up to gamma correction can almost be completed in a high-speed mode. The storage area 23C in an idle state in the high-speed mode is used for a part of a storage area 23A.
