PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that a main body housing and an original read section can easily be opened for jamming elimination processing and maintenance processing. SOLUTION: A shell 12 that is opened/closed around a spindle 15 is provided for a main body housing 2. The shell 12 is held in a 1st opening state when a part between crests 63, 64 of a cam rail 17 integrally formed to the shell 12 is abutted on a stopper 20. When opening the shell 12 furthermore from this state, an acting section 65 of the shell 12 strikes on a section 66 to be acted of an original read section 3 to open the original read section. Thus, up to the original read section it can be opened by opening only the shell 12 and the image forming device offering ease of maintenance operation or the like can be realized.
