PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit which is provided with a refresh circuit for making an organic electroluminescence element have a long life in spite of having a simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: This element has at least an anode 12 which is made of a transparent conductive material, an organic layer which is constituted of layers of one or more and a cathode 14 which is opposed to the anode 12 on a transparent substrate. The anode 12 or the cathode is dividingly formed into plural pieces of segments Seg 1 to Seg 7 made to correspond to a shape to be displayed and other sides of the segments are made to be a common Com. The element is made to be an organic electroluminescence element capable of emitting lights in a prescribed pattern by being statically driven while connecting a DC. power source Vcc to these segments Seg 1 to Seg 7 and the common Com. Moreover, a refresh circuit 30 making the segments Seg 1 to Seg 7 and the common Com to be in electrically short-circuited state in a prescribed timing is provided in this driving circuit. |
