PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display panel high in contrast and brightness. SOLUTION: This reflection type liquid crystal panel is provided with a first substrate 101, a second substrate 102 opposed to the substrate 101, a liquid crystal layer 113 in between and an electrically conductive reflection layer 104 on the substrate 102. An electrode layer 107, an electrically conductive polymer 108 patterned into a prescribed shape and a solid electrolyte 109 are laminated in this order from the substrate 102 side between the substrate 102 and the layer 104. An irregular state of the layer 104 is controlled by reversibly changing the volume of the polymer 108 by impressing DC voltage to the layer 107.
