摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microlens substrate which can prevent defects such as warpage, distortion and peeling. SOLUTION: A microlens substrate 1B consists of a glass substrate 5 on which many recesses 3 and artifical recesses 42 are formed, a glass layer 6 joined through a resin layer 7 with a face of the glass substrate 5 having the recesses 3, and alignment marks 21 as an index for positioning. In the result layer 7, microlens 8 are formed by the resin which fills the recesses 3. The microlens substrate 1B has such a structure that an effective lens region 99 positioned in a center part is surrounded by a region 98 where the artificial recesses is formed and further, the region 98 having the artificial recesses is surrounded by a thickness holding region 97. The alignment marks 21 are formed in the thickness holding region 97 where the original thickness of the glass substrate 5 is maintained. The distribution density of artificial recesses 42 is controlled to gradually decrease from near the effective lens region 99 to an edge of the microlens substrate 1B.
