PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain color reproduction in which image coincidence and color reproducibility is well-balanced at the time of converting in color spaces of plural picture inputting and outputting means whose color reproduction regions are different. SOLUTION: This color reproducing method includes a first step for preparing a color reproduction region data base A of a first picture inputting and outputting means, a second step for preparing a color reproduction region data base B of a second picture inputting and outputting means, a third step for preparing a data base AB by converting the color reproduction region of the first picture inputting and outputting means inside the color reproduction region of the second picture inputting and outputting means while holding gradation, a forth step for preparing a data base BA by converting the color reproduction region of the second picture inputting and outputting means inside the color reproduction region of the first picture inputting and outputting means while holding gradation, a fifth step for preparing a data base BA-1 by operating inverse conversion of the conversion from the data base B to the data base A to the color reproduction region of the first picture inputting and outputting means, and a sixth step for preparing a color reproduction target data base N by linearly mixing the color reproduction regions for the second picture inputting and outputting means expressed by the data bases AB and BA-1, and converting it from the data base A to the data base B.
