PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter suitable for a CDMA mobile terminal, where a circuit suppressing the effect of carrier leak is realized with a small size and low power consumption, while the transmission output is controlled to be small. SOLUTION: This transmitter is provided with a local variable amplifier 11 that variably amplifies a carrier, a reference voltage generating section 102 that generates a prescribed reference voltage, a comparator section 103 that discriminates whether a level of a control signal is higher of lower than level of a reference voltage, and a control section 104 that controls a gain of the local variable amplifier, so as to optimize the distortion characteristic of the transmission output when the level of the control signal is higher than that of the reference voltage and controls the gain of the local variable amplifier, so as to suppress the effects of the carrier leak onto the transmission output, when the level of the control signal is lower than that of the reference voltage. |
