PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the toner capable of preventing occurrence of image defect due to offset phenomenon at the time of using a fixing process corresponding to energy economization and to provide the image forming method capable of preventing occurrence of image defect due to offset phenomenon even by using a fixing process corresponding to energy economization. SOLUTION: This toner comprise a binder resin and a colorant and a histogram for the toner particles for expressing the particles distribution of the toner particles is described by designating a diameter of each toner particle as D (μm) and selecting a natural logarithm∞nD as a horizontal axis and dividing this horizontal axis into plural classes by the intervals of 0, 2, and 3 to express a particle diameter distribution on the volume base. The sum M of the relative frequency (m1) of the toner particles contained in the most frequent class and the relative frequency (m2) of the toner particles contained in the class next to the most frequent class; M=m1+m2 is >=75%. The image forming method uses a fixing devise provided with thin heating rollers and comprises a fixing process for fixing a toner image.
