PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reproduction of the same music continuously or at narrow intervals by weighting the music within a prescribed range from the past reproduced music in such a manner that the reproduction probability of the music to be reproduced henceforce is more approximated to zero with the immediately nearer music and executing the random reproduction of the music recorded on a recording medium in accordance with this weighting. SOLUTION: A random number generating section 51 of a controls section 5 generate random numbers in order to randomly select and reproduce the music and a reproduced music memory section 52 stores the music numbers of the past reproduced music in order of reproduction in a memory. The random numbers are generated by the instruction of the random reproduction and whether this music exists within a past reproduction comparison object range or not is judged. If the music does not exist therein, this music is reproduced. If the music exists therein, whether this music is the same as the reproduced music before which pieces of the music is detected and the reproduction probability corresponding to the total number of the music is read out of a weighting section 53. The corresponding random numbers are then generated and judgment is made relating to the selected music. The reproduction probabilities set in such a manner that the probabilities of reproduction are gradually smaller from the music of the order sequence of the reproduction toward the successively newer music are stored in the weighting section 53.
