PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decontamination method capable of decontaminating in high efficiency regardless of shape of the waste and contamination state and of simultaneously reducing volume. SOLUTION: In this uranium separation processing method, steel group waste such as carbon steel contaminated by uranium, stainless steel, etc., is melted, flux containing SiO2 is added to the molten steel group waste to form slug by combining the flux and uranium and the slug is separated from the molten metal to decontaminate. In this case, after an oxidizing gas is blown in the molten metal and stirring the molten metal and flux it is put stable and the slug is separated.
