PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely detect craking, damage or the like of a concrete pile by burrying a detection material of flexible FRP(fiber reinforced plastic) type capable of detecting change in electric resistance value, and arranging a lead of the detection material outside of the pile. SOLUTION: At first, glass fiber is immersed in a resin slurry in which a hardener and carbon powder are mixed so that the carbon powder is immersed in the glass fiber, thereby forming a carbon powder contained glass FRP 2. The glass FRP is coated with an insulative glass FRP, then after it is dried, a lead 4 is bonded by use of paste 3, thereby forming a flexible FRP type detection material 1 composed of the insulating coating. Then, the lead 4 of the material 1 is connected to a constant current power supply, and after a constant current is made to flow in the material 1 from the power supply, change in voltage to be loaded on electrodes at both ends of the material 1 is measured. The measured voltage is divided by a set current value of the power supply to thereby find an electric resistance value.
