<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable anybody to easily perform operation such as menu selection without any guide message regarding input key operation on electronics where a desirable function and operation are set by key input by specifying arbitrary choices in a menu picture. SOLUTION: When character direction keys at a key input operation are operated to set a format, a character direction setting picture G1 wherein two choices of '1. vertical writing 2. horizontal writing' are arrayed is read out of a storage area of setting picture data in a ROM and displayed at a liquid crystal display part 12 and numeric input keys '1' and '2' which correspond to the numeric codes 1. and 2. of the two choices in the character direction setting picture in a lighting type ten-key 14 having LEDs built in for each key are selected, and their LEDs are controlled to illuminate, thus, only the numeric codes of the two choices 'vertical writing/horizontal writing' which can be inputted in the character direction setting picture G1 can easily be selected and inputted with the numeric input keys under the illumination control.</p> |
