摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain transmission of many more traffic flows when an information quantity is increased by decreasing a cell abort rate of the information with low priority at the same time while maintaining the quality of the information with high priority constant. SOLUTION: The asynchronous transfer mode ATM multiplexer 1 consists of input buffers 2-1,...2-n that are provided by each of various information sets and store various information sets, a shared buffer 3 that stores information from each input buffer as transfer data and a communication control means 4 that reads each information stored in each input buffer, stores each information to the shared buffer and outputs the transfer data stored in the shared buffer. The communication control means 4 sets a threshold to the shared buffer that makes information resident therein on the basis of a time when the shared buffer transmits transfer data, the oldest time corresponding to the transfer data, and number of information sets stored and inhibits transfer of information from any input buffer to the shared buffer when number of resident transfer data in the shared buffer reaches a prescribed value.</p>
