<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the value of an auxiliary capacitance per unit area and to increase the opening rate in a liquid crystal display panel equipped with an auxiliary capacitance electrode. SOLUTION: A part of a pixel electrode 13 is formed on an anodically oxidized film 7 formed on the surface of an auxiliary capacitance electrode 4 through an opening 18 formed in a gate insulating film 8. Therefore, a part of the overlapping between the auxiliary capacitance electrode 4 and pixel electrode 13 consists of the auxiliary capacitance electrode 4, pixel electrode 13 and anodically oxidized film 7 between those, which increases the value of the auxiliary capacitance per unit area in that region. As a result, even when the overlapped area of the auxiliary capacitance electrode 4 and pixel electrode 13 is decreased to a certain degree, the required value of the auxiliary capacitance can be kept and the opening rate can be increased.</p> |
