PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly map display device by providing a natural image reading means. SOLUTION: This map display device is formed of a natural image accumulating means 6 for storing a plurality of natural images concerning the present position of a vehicle, a display part 8 for selectively displaying at least one slave screen for displaying the natural image on a part of a master screen, when the display screen for displaying map information is set to the master screen, an operation part 30 for instructing the display state of the natural image on the slave screen, a display control part 7 for controlling the display of the display part 8 on the basis of the instruction from the operation part 30, and an image pickup means 35. The natural image taken by the image pickup means 35 is stored in the accumulating means 6 together with the position information in the image pickup position. The image pickup and reading of the image pickup means 35 are controlled on the basis of the instruction from the operation part 30. Of the preliminarily accumulated natural images and the natural images read from the image pickup means 35, the natural image concerning the present position of the vehicle is displayed on the slave screen. Since the user can freely read the natural image by use of the image pickup means 35, the retrieval of a designation can be facilitated. |
