PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for exchanging the positional information on a digital map without being accompanied by the load of maintenance. SOLUTION: In a positional information transmitting device for exchanging information for the road position on a digital map, an information proposing-side device has a positional information conversion part 2 for converting the information for the road position to be transmitted to a road shape data formed of a coordinate line showing the road shape in a road section of a prescribed length including the road position and a relative data showing the road position within this road section, and an information receiving-side device has a shape matching part 5 for performing a shape matching by use of the road shape data to specify the road section on the digital map and specifying the road position within the road section by use of the relative data. The information for the position on the digital map can be precisely exchanged without defining the node number or link number on the road network.
