PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce leakage of an electromagnetic wave emitted from a cathode ray tube of a display device in its front direction. SOLUTION: In this device for preventing leakage of electromagnetic wave, a leakage magnetic flux detection coil 11 detects a magnetic flux leaked from a horizontal deflection circuit 5 and a current induced thereby is supplied to magnetic flux generating cols 12, 13 mounted respectively to an upper part and a lower part of a cathode ray tube 2. The magnetic flux generating cols 12, 13 respectively generate magnetic flux in the reverse direction to the magnetic flux that is generated from a horizontal deflection coil 4 of a deflection yoke 3 and leaked in front of the cathode ray tube 2, the both magnetic fluxes are cancelled with each other, the result that the magnetic flux in front of the cathode ray tube 2 is weakened is obtained. Thus, the leakage of the electromagnetic wave can positively be reduced.
