PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the outputting timing of journal data more in detail. SOLUTION: In the sales managing device 1, a processor 3 stores journal data in the journal memory of a RAM 12 at the time of merchandise sales registering processing. The processor 3 detects the using residual quantity state of the journal memory by multistage and informs an operator of the detected using residual quantity state by an informing device 5. At the time of detecting the using residual quantity state, the processor 3 detects to which of at least two stages fixed in advance the using residual quantity state of the journal memory amounts and at the time of detecting that the using residual quantity state amounts to either of the stages, informs the operator of the detected using residual quantity by the device 5 in a state according to the detected stage. Thus, the operator can output journal data from the device 1 before a stored residual quantity becomes zero by easily predicting the transition of the stored residual quantity of the journal memory.
