PURPOSE: A method and device for controlling a terminal equipment of a branch processor is provided to access each communication resource by supplying a single processor capable of being created or removed by a user interface and setting an environment only for operating clients having different communication protocols therefrom. CONSTITUTION: In case that a communication mode according to a TCP/IP client is not set, a communication environment is set by a user interface(ST130). The set communication environment is applied to a conventional communication environment and a TCP/IP communication mode is created in a communication mode unit(ST132). Continuously, if an opening and a connection of a communication port are requested to an asynchronous and TCP/IP service or using the TCP/IP communication mode, the ATS allocates a communication resource according to the corresponding communication port and performs activation(ST136-ST144). A client newly connected to a branch processor may request a service to a host computer and receive a response to the request(ST146). If a communication mode according to one client is set in a CAM(Communication), a service is performed without a creating operation of a communication mode(ST147).
