PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming device equipped with the fixing device capable of restraining power consumption, while shortening waiting time for user. SOLUTION: This fixing device is provided with a heat generating means to generate heat at a prescribed temperature by power from a power source, and a preheating control means for setting the heat generating means to generate the heat at temperatures lower than the prescribed temperature when a fixing processing interruption state is continued for a prescribed time T or longer. The device is further provided with a power consumption measuring means for measuring power consumption of the heat generating means, and the preheating control means controls and the length of the time required until the heat generating means is set to a temperature lower than the prescribed temperature may be shorter than the prescribed time T, when power consumption W measured by the power consumption measuring means is equal to or above a prescribed power consumption WO. |
