PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to guide backlight lead wires up to the side of a driving circuit substrate without drawing around them outside of a backlight unit by forming an insertion groove for inserting the plural lead wires in a leg part. SOLUTION: A backlight unit 2 is provided with a light guide plate, frame parts 22-24, LEDs 25, and a pair of leg parts 26, 27, and an insertion groove 28 for inserting lead wires 251, 252 therethrough is formed inside of the leg part 26. This insertion groove 28 is inverted U-shaped and formed on the bottom side (the plane faced to a driving circuit substrate 3) of the leg part 26. This insertion groove 28 may have a width only enough to insert the two lead wires 251, 252. Thus, it is possible to draw out each of the lead wires 251, 252 to the side of the driving circuit substrate 3 with the insertion groove through the leg part 26, and this eliminates the needs for wiring outside of the backlight unit 2 as in conventional embodiments. |
