PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a metal piece being mixed into an inspection target even if the inspection target is large as in a loaf of bread. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a device body 10 and a plate-shaped reception part 11 that is provided at the upper portion of the body 10, and is made of a non-magnetic and non-conductive material. An electromagnet 12 with an axis being extended in a perpendicular direction for a balance for indicating and displaying the weight of an inspection target such as bread and cakes being placed on the reception part 11 by a pointer 102 at a display part 101 being provided in front of the body 10 is provided at the upper portion inside the body 10 at the lower portion of the center of the reception part 11, and a DC voltage source DC and a switch SW being connected in series across both the ends of a coil 121 being wound around the electromagnet 12 are provided.
