The CD-ROM is made in the shape of a rectangular card with a CD recording in the central part, and two ends that can be snapped off to reduce the overall length of the card. The snap-off ends of the card are formed by cutting a slot through the card, leaving only narrow bridges holding the two parts together. A central hole can also be pushed out to fit over the CD drive.
